beacon
start tiny. return anytime. no shame.
the calm habit app for brains the productivity industry forgot. for anyone tired of streaks, shame, and one-size-fits-all plans. crossing the start line is the part your brain finds hard, so we make that the only ask.
free. no streaks. no shame. open the app, do one tiny thing, log it.
how it works
most habit apps were built for someone else.
many apps reward streaks and perfection. beacon is built for how your brain actually works. gentle. flexible. real life.
- streaks and pressureno streaks. no pressure.
- one-size-fits-all planstiny, flexible, and adaptable
- punishment for missing daysmissing days is normal
- built for neurotypical habitsbuilt for brains that don't fit streak culture
- hard to restartstart tiny. return anytime.
tiny counts
the three rules.
no streaks
missing yesterday breaks nothing.
streaks make 54% of ADHD users abandon habit apps (j. behav. med., 2023). beacon doesn't track them and never will.
no shame
forgetting is information.
if a system requires you to remember to use it, the system is the bug. beacon meets you where you are and stays there.
tiny counts
one sip of water is a beacon.
behavioral activation research is clear: the size of the action doesn't matter. crossing the start line does. so we make that the only ask.
what it is
a small calm app for hard days and easy days.
beacon is built around routines and tiny actions. you log "things you started" — beacons — and the app holds the state for you. it's calm by default: cream + sage palette, no exclamation marks, no celebratory confetti without your consent. the personality lives in the buddy and the warm copy, not in app chrome shouting at you.
built for anyone whose brain doesn't fit streak culture — AuDHD, anxiety, burnout, executive dysfunction, chronic illness, depression. if you've bounced off habit apps before, beacon is built for the way your brain actually works.

why we built it
because we needed it.
beacon was built by people with AuDHD, for ourselves first. we tried every habit app on the market and kept hitting the same wall: streaks made us worse. notifications became another thing to ignore. one bad day broke everything we'd built.
so we built the app we actually wanted. no streaks, ever. no punishment for missing days. crossing the start line is the only ask, because behavioral activation research is clear that's the part our brains find hard. drinking one sip of water is a beacon. so is standing up. so is naming a feeling.
every recipe step traces to a researcher or named principle. the voice was written carefully — for AuDHD brains first, but also for anyone whose mind has been told it doesn't work right. nothing here is generic wellness fog.
if you've ever been told your brain is broken — by a streak app, a productivity guru, a therapist who didn't get it, or yourself — this app was built for you too.
open the app. do one tiny thing.
that's the whole pitch. it counts.
ios is not built yet. honest disclosure: don't hold your breath. the android apk is the best path right now.
